Exchange public folder mail enable -> Unable to create Public Folder proxy object for folder
I am running into an interesting problem here: When mail enabling a oublic folder the server trows in the following error: Unable to create Public Folder proxy object for folder "test23" in the Active Directory. Research learns us that the system attendent cant creat the object. in most cases the acces right or account on the system attendant seemes incorect i checked this: System attendent = local system account and non interactive Server is member of exchange servers Server is member of the Exchange domain servers Server is allowed to creat public folder objects in the AD exchange systems objects OU Strange part is server can update existing public folders and change are being made into the AD exchange systems objects OU -> so only new objects cant be created. When enableling protocol logs i can c the following happening: System Attendant has received an RPC call. Function: ScCreateMailEnabledPFProxy User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Bindings: ncalrpc:ZTMSEX1[LRPC-92050d2e45f52df8e7] System Attendant has finished an RPC call. Function: ScCreateMailEnabledPFProxy Return: 0x8000500d The returning error 0x8000500d leads me to a schema error that is there by design : The value 0x8000500D is found in adserr.h and is defined as E_ADS_PROPERTY_NOT_FOUND. This error can be returned when the Directory Service provider, or underlying Directory Service, does not implement the property being used. Directory Service providers are not required to implement all properties. Querying the schema entry for the class of the object being used indicates what properties are supported. See the ADSI Design Specification for more information about browsing the schema. Does annybody have anny idea how to fix this ?

What is Exchange version you are talking about here. Did you try by restart SA (Its mean reboot of server). If you are geting Event ID: 9543 then please have a look of below KB. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/327841Anil

It is exchange 2007 SP 2 as mentioned in the start topic diagnostic logging reveals the following and also confirms that system attendent is runninig as local system. Also this has always worked fine seen the last mail enabled folder was created on 07-10-2010 something between then and now must has been changed or get wrong: When enabling diagnostic logs i can c the following happening: System Attendant has received an RPC call. Function: ScCreateMailEnabledPFProxy User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Bindings: ncalrpc:ZTMSEX1[LRPC-92050d2e45f52df8e7] System Attendant has finished an RPC call. Function: ScCreateMailEnabledPFProxy Return: 0x8000500d

Do run the Best Practice Analyzer Tool on the Exchange Server from Tools Options. See if it throws error in regards to System Attendant Mailbox being Disconnected.Ashwin Raj

Hi 13th-Scriptkiddie, I have run into some issues looks like yours, please try follow below methods: 1. I would check the default address policy firstly, and then confirm: =>in the Adsiedit checked purported search attribute on Default policy and set value (mailnickname=*), whether it was Not Set=>create new public folder and make it mail-enable 2. confirm the public folder database replication work well Regards!
